Bro. John was saved in 1968, surrendered to preach in April of 1972 and was ordained in December of 1972. He received his B.A. in Pastoral Theology at Southeastern Bible College in 1978. At Luther Rice University and Seminary he received his Master of Divinity in 1986 and received his Doctor of Ministry in 1991. From the Carolina Bible Institute he received his Doctor of Divinity (Honorary).

He and his wife Linda, have two children, David and Lydia.
